We were excited about hosting Our Beginnings Inc. – 'Pretty-In-Pink' Mother’s Day event. The Hilton has never held a community function that catered to domestically abused women from a shelter. This was a great effort made on behalf of OBI. The Hilton Gateway staff was delighted to assist in the accommodations of the event's needs.

The ‘Pretty-In-Pink’ Mother’s Day event was very encouraging. I was truly motivated by all of the women and especially the group coaching session that communicated truth about how to overcome life obstacles that will surface but learning how to cope with them by remaining calm, analyzing the situation, finding alternate options to go around them or just simply make a U-Turn. I left with a strong and inspiring notion to believe that the best is yet to come.

I enjoyed myself immensely at the ‘Pretty-In-Pink’ Mother’s Day event. Everything was done so well. I loved the group coaching activities that allowed us to participate in a life journey walk together. During the walk, we encountered roadblocks but were instructed on how to get around them. The poet was awesome and his selective choice of words spoke dear to my ‘soul.’ Regardless to race and religion, we were all treated as one. It’s just nice to know that there is an agency you can reach out to in times of adversity.
